Social anxiety is not introversion

It occured to me, as I was reading about introversion, that it could easily be confused for social anxiety. However, as this article points out, introverts, while having likes or dislikes about aspects of socializing, do not necessarily feel anxious about socializing. Introversion/Extroversion is a personality trait, whereas Social Anxiety is a mental disorder. Thus, somewhat surprisingly to me, you can have someone who is both highly extroverted and suffers from social anxiety. Now that would be a challenge indeed.
