Jerusalem artichokes

This summer I planted some Jerusalem artichokes in my front yard. I didn’t know too much about them other than that they are indigenous to this area (the east of Canada, generally speaking), and that they have edible tubers. Consequently, I was a bit surprised by the way the little teeny plants that I planted kept growing, and growing, and growing. Tonight I found this site, which explains that they can grow up to three meters tall. Aha. Good to know.
